Among the misty mountains of Alishan lies a Tsou cultural village known as YUYUPAS.
This is more than just a sightseeing destination — it is a delicate journey into culture, land, and everyday life. From the rhythm of the tribe to the memories carried through local flavors, every moment here becomes a way of connecting with the mountains and forest.
However, on August 8, 2009, the devastating Typhoon Morakot (88 Flood Disaster) brought silence to this land. Industries came to a halt, visitors disappeared, and the tribe gradually lost its original rhythm. While many chose to leave the mountains and move elsewhere, YUYUPAS chose to stay.
Construction began on September 21, 2009, and the park officially opened on June 27, 2010. In the heart of Alishan — Leye Tribe — a place built upon dreams was reborn: a cultural park created to rebuild hope and create a home for dreams to grow.
This is not merely a park, but a place where culture continues to live and flourish. Here, Tsou youth rediscover their direction and identity through creativity and cultural inheritance. Rooted in the land, local agricultural products are transformed with refinement and care, while culture itself becomes more than memory — it becomes part of everyday life.
Here, we do not simply preserve tradition; we tell the story of the Tsou people in new and evolving ways.
And for that reason, we proudly stand as the only Tsou Cultural Tribal Park in Alishan.
